Being a father taught me to first and foremost prioritize my relationship with my wife. We strive to become the best team we can be through mutual understanding and care for one another. Raising a baby is hard, so it is important to treat one another with kindness and put each other’s needs before our own. Little things such as changing the baby’s diaper or preparing a quick breakfast meal are meaningful and make my wife happy.
I would like her to grow up with courage to take risks and make an impact in this world. It’s important to have a dream and work hard to pursue your goals, so I would like her to grow up knowing that she can achieve anything that she set out her mind to.
Funnily enough, I tell her that now even though she still can’t understand what it means yet. But maybe she does, who knows? Because when she wants to play with her toys, Isla never gives up on trying to reach them.
Growing up in a Chinese family 3 decades ago is very different compared to my life in Canada now. My father taught me to be grateful and prioritize family above anything. In the end, it doesn’t matter if we have all the riches of the world if we don’t have anyone to love. My perspective hasn’t changed, I will always be thankful and love them back, unconditionally.
It’s pretty awesome, hands down. I officially changed my title to househusband as soon as my wife went back to work just after 1 month of giving birth. I will always cherish the times and memories that I get to spend with my daughter as she is growing quickly each day. I think dads should be more involved with parenting and spending quality time in order to develop a strong bond with the family.
During COVID-19, we didn’t have much support since we didn’t have any family members in the province, and everything is isolated. It’s definitely been tough for a young family like ours but being kind to each other really goes a long way for the parents. I also really appreciated the gifts and support from our friends towards our family.
It’s ideal when the baby eats well, naps well, and we get to go outside for a run or some easy outdoor activities. So far, we have taken the baby to the beach, and it was a lot of fun! Looking forward to doing more of those activities in the future.
Food delivery, cleaning services, Abacus subscription, online streaming, and a nice baby carrier.
Freshprep has been a lifesaver for our family. With a baby, we don’t have much time to do groceries and let alone cook a complicated meal. Freshprep makes it convenient to prepare a simple, healthy, and delicious meal!
